Advanced Final Project: SaaS Landing Page

Build a professional multi-section SaaS landing page with advanced layout, animation and theming.

This capstone pulls the whole Advanced level together into a portfolio-grade piece: a modern SaaS landing page with a hero, feature grid, pricing cards, fluid type, tasteful animation, a theme switch and full accessibility.

What you are building

A multi-section marketing page: a hero with a gradient and call-to-action, a responsive feature grid, pricing cards (one highlighted), a testimonial strip and a footer — all fluid, animated and themeable, built with the modern techniques from this level.

SaaS Landing Page

Build a polished, responsive, animated and themeable SaaS landing page using every advanced technique: Grid, container queries, fluid sizing, animation and accessibility.

Requirements
  • A hero with a gradient background, fluid heading (clamp) and CTA buttons
  • A responsive feature grid (auto-fit / minmax)
  • Pricing cards with one highlighted plan (BEM-style classes)
  • Tasteful hover animations using transform/opacity only
  • A light/dark theme switch using semantic tokens
  • Fluid type and spacing scale with clamp()
  • Visible focus states and prefers-reduced-motion support
  • Accessible contrast in both themes
Steps
  1. Set up primitive and semantic tokens, plus a [data-theme] dark override
  2. Build the hero with a gradient and clamp() typography
  3. Create the feature grid with repeat(auto-fit, minmax())
  4. Build pricing cards with a base class and a --featured modifier
  5. Add hover lifts using transform and a cubic-bezier transition
  6. Add a prefers-reduced-motion guard
  7. Add :focus-visible rings to all interactive elements
  8. Verify contrast in light and dark, then polish spacing
Bonus challenges
  • Animate sections into view with a subtle keyframe fade-up
  • Use container queries so pricing cards adapt to their column
  • Add a sticky, condensing header on scroll

You combined advanced Grid, container queries, fluid sizing, performant animation, theming with semantic tokens and accessibility into a professional, production-quality landing page.

Best practice

Theme with semantic tokens, build layout with Grid and components with Flexbox, animate only transform/opacity, and bake in accessibility from the start rather than retrofitting it.

Level 3 completeCongratulations — you have completed the Advanced level! You now write modern, performant, accessible, themeable CSS. The final Senior/Expert level steps up to architecture and design systems — thinking and building like a CSS lead.
Key takeaways
  • The SaaS page combines every advanced technique into one piece.
  • Theme with semantic tokens; layout with Grid, components with Flexbox.
  • Animate only transform/opacity; respect reduced motion.
  • Next: the Senior/Expert level — architecture and design systems.
